Hear hear! I spent some time in Canada and having a multi party system gets shit done. When the Liberals swung too far right, the Labour party (NDP) got more power and when the Conservatives swung too far left, the Reform party sprung up. Polititcs was a little boring in Canada because of this but hell, it seemed like there always was a choice and there was very little chance for corruption.

I think Canada now has 4 major parties. Liberals, Conservatives, NDP and Bloc Quebecois.

I find in the USA, we really run under a one party system. The Republican party have pretty much been in power the entire time I can remember (small stint with Clinton and Carter). The Democrats have to really get their shit together and keep the Republican's in line. I'm republican but damn it, those extreme right wingers get out of control and we rely on a disorganized bunch of hippies to keep them in check.
