Well i guess the masses have had their say. kudos to you guys, you've proven my theory of people wanting sex from porn wrong. I'll try a subtle thriller/romance next time.

all good but nobody really stuck out as best. I think JKR had the best campaign, is all.

I agree. All the entries were great. It's hard to say that one can stand out as the best.
All the contestants (that finished) have my respect. Thanks for somes great competition. Congratulations to Team Vibrating Bawls and Team JK Ballings on their respective wins and prizes.

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond to the contest.
Ok..... the winner is.....
First place with "Mindy in Space"; Team Hello Kitty2
Second place with "The Adventures of Selick Jones" ; Team J.K. Bawling
And third place with "Out there"; Team Vibrating Bawls
Thanks to all the contestants for their entries. everyone did such a awesome job and I wish I could give prizes to all of you.
To first and second place winners, Blue has the money and will work with you on how to get it to you. I think she is out of town right now but should be back soon.
For Baw and Vibor just e-mail or PM me what, how and when you want me to get you the memberships. I plan on buying two memberships and passing the Usename and pass word on to you by PM or e-mail.
Thanks again to ALL the contestants for the great art stories and comixs!!!!

This was a great contest. I had a lot of fun. I'm very surprised me and JBD were able to break in and place. Thanks to all you guys who supported us!
What a timely post, idic. I was just about to get on and ask where I can pick up my medal for being 1st place loser!

There's been.. alot of drama concerning this contest. More so than I originally thought. I've been toying with the idea of shutting the contest area completely but.. I can't do that because of one contest. We'll see what happens in a few days..

I've been catching info on all of the happenings. It is a really unfortunate incident but not a chronic problem I think. JabForums have run so many successful contests in the past but this one, due to the length and timing of the contest, really put a bit of a strain on the community. When the second deadline has passed it ended up putting everyone in a bad mood where everyone usually gets excited about all of the new art.
I would really be disappointed if the regular contests were gone. I half started getting back into this community wanting to compete in the contests (I only got to enter into two!). Prizes are always nice but maybe money corrupted us all. How bouts...
Monthly contest
1st Prize - 1 month Jab Subscription
2nd Prize - Gets to choose the next contest topic (on admin approval).
3rd Prize - JKR will draw and publish a custom 32 page hard bound comic book.

JKR draws and publishes what? Damn people making me work harder than I should.
Well.. here's the jist. Over the last two years, independent contests have been.. problematic. I think the only person with little or no complications with their respective contest was Tenchi (and even he's having trouble managing his own contests). Official contests have been strong, but there's been some backlash with the last sci-fi contest which many people had mistaken it as an official JAB contest.
When we started having difficulties with the contests, I had placed a new guideline for contests. We made it clear that independent contests were not official JAB contests and that the responsibilities were solely on the head of guys hosting the contests (Idic has been great with his responsibility.. so props to him on this case). Still, it doesn't seems to be working well for the site. 'Our' reputation dwindles every time a contest ends in.. utter badness. Staff (that's me) spends way too much energy managing and correcting these matters. And the outburst of drama is just too much for us.
Anyways, we'll have more official actions in place for this area soon. Well maybe.
