Got caught up with your thread, and I like the start of The Protectorate (and the art from Issue 2 you've posted looks great). As for pacing and your friend saying it's boring . . . I like comics that take their time establishing character and building up to the action before blowing stuff up. I like Geoff John's stuff, but sometimes his frantic pacing is a bit too fast for my taste, and I'd like to see him settle down with some quieter moments with the characters (instead of just a panel or 2). Of course you can go overboard with slow pacing (just look at the first half of Fusion #1--waaaay to much text and exposition kills the pacing, and I would've done better cutting a lot of it out), but The Protectorate doesn't have the walls of text that my comic does, so even the "slow" scenes read quickly. Still, every bit of criticism helps (even if you don't agree with it, it at least gives you something to take into consideration). Looking forward to more!
