When the person is reaching for their wallet and says i will take it. Stop! You can ask if they need thing else. But stop trying to sale them some else they do not want. Ring it up and tell them to have a nice day. If i want the 300 dollar phone i ask for the 300 dollar phone. If i want the phone just like the one i got sale it to me. Do not try to tell how much better the phone is. Do not make me feel dumb because i do not want the 300 dollar phone. Sell me the phone i want and let me leave. i almost punch a saleman and almost walk out today. One of those would made me feel better (and cost lil sis bail money) the other would wasted my time.

I actually left a sales person at the counter with the stuff I wanted because he was too pushy. Not only didn't he get the sale, I went to there competition and got it cheaper...of course I didn't have to go back and tell him and his manager but I thought that was an extra bonus.

First off i have to say i hate overly pushy and forceful sales people. I'm glad that its actually illegal in this country. I also work in sales management and I know being pushy with customers is a reciepe for disaster. But I have to "up sale" or my head is on the line.

In sales we have KPI's to keep and some people work for commission. So even if we don't want to ask "would you like the more expensive product?" or "would you like to add X with that" we have too. We have jobs to do as well. As annoying as it might be.

Retail is giving me serious health issues, if that doesn't tell you how stressful it can be on the other side of the counter I don't know what will... nuff said!
