Greetings Jabbers! I am Galen Deeds, otherwise known as The Veediotartist. I have been a fan of JAB Comix for a couple of years now, since I stumbled upon some of his works. (Sadly from a Pirate Site) But when I heard that he had his own site, I decided to support one of my favorite artists and become a member. Now, here I am introducing myself on the JAB Forums! Wicked.
I am a big fan of Pin-Ups. My favorite Pin-Up Artist is actually Gil Elvgren, with JAB and Bruce Timm coming in close seconds. I fell in love with the art style of Bruce Timm when I was a young boy watching Batman: The Animated Series. Since then I have attempted to immitate him in my artwork with a hint of an other one of my favorite artists, John Kricfalusi (creator of The Ren & Stimpy Show) That is actually how I found JAB. Someone was mistaken in posting one of JAB's works as John K's, but I wasn't convinced. Loved the picture though and sought more.
As would be expected, an other one of my loves is Comics. Especially comics that aren't affraid to "push the boundaries". I recall reading some of Bruce Timm's lesser known works and thinking, "Man, he can print that!?!" A beautiful mixture of Art and Taboo that had my mind filling with ideas. Then, I forget how, but I discovered "Ay Papi" Immediately, the art jumped off the screen at me. And the story was so Taboo that I wanted more. I needed more. I then decided I would dust off my old art table and start working.
Well, Life has a funny way of getting in the way of dreams, but I have produced some of my best work these past couple of years. Pin-Ups mostly. Although I love to brainstorm stories, I am not much of a writer. At least I don't think I am. And I am still a developing artist. I'm just beginning to bloom, man. I hope to find a home here amoung people who like the same sort of art and stories I do. Perhaps here, I can find my start. Or at least a reason to be serious about starting.
I hope to be posting some of my old works soon and starting on my new works. I sign all my works G. Deeds, which is why I began this thread with my name. I am glad to be here, and hope this will be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. (Movie reference!)

The Veediotartist I do with words what an artist does with a pen... Just not very well.
