Great contest, with some really great artwork. And a few really interesting stories out there as well. I think this was a prime example of how contests should go... a ton of awesome artists all showing off their awesome skills.

I'm kinda disappointed in my team's number of votes. I didn't expect to win, but I was hoping for a bit more of a "strong showing" when it came to the votes.

Love it Sinope!
Thanks everybody, and a special shout out to all the entries! They were all so entertaining and well done.

Congratulations on taking this contest quite handily. Your amazing colors with JKR's art really made the Hello Kitty comic stand out! Now... where is your Ribbon?

Truth be told I wish I could have placed a vote for my top three. Having one vote and only one vote was hard as everyone was deserving of something. I'm sure many other voters wish they could've had a top three vote as well. What it boils down to is having one vote to spend and voting for the prequel that really stuck out in their minds. While I have to admit I didn't vote for Team Hello Kitty, it was one of my faves and in the end who I voted for was the one that impressed me most.

Honestly, I'm really surprised you guys didn't take second or third. Don't see it as a reflection on your comic (which was obviously fantastic). Its just a horrible side effect of the "one man one vote" system. I'm absolutely positive if the members had to cast votes for first, second, and third, you would see that hundreds of members loved your comic and would of placed you in the top three (... and not the 12 people as the voting suggests). Its just that they just liked Hello Kitty's more.

Just to geek out a little, I believe the voting system we use is called first-past the post. Simple majority. Good for elections, referendums and other votes when the choices are few and polarized. The system I like better is called "run-off voting". I like to use for things like choosing a logo, or team name. Everyone gets their first, second (or third) choices or the voter ranks all of the candidates. Each ranking vote is weighted. It is usually a better system when you have many candidates, trying to gauge intrinsic opinion or you need multiple winners.
