I follow a few webcomics that periodically broadcast a stream of them drawing their comics along with a chatroom that interacts with them while they draw. It's done over ustream and it's really great because you get to see the process from start to finish and it's overall just a really enjoyable thing to witness, especially when the artist draws something worth watching.

I was wondering, and maybe it's been brought up before or even done before, excuse my ignorance but I haven't been a member long, but I thought it'd be great to see Jab broadcast one of his sessions working on a page of a comic or something so we can see the ways of the master, so to speak lol. Or, he could do a ustream broadcast in the same vein as the chatroom requests, where people in the ustream chat could give requests and they can actually see Jab drawing the request live. It would expand on the way Jab does requests already.

Just a thought, saw some great artists interact with fans that way and I thought wouldn't it be cool to see Jab work in that way.

this sounds like a good Idea but then Jab has never really wanted to let any one know what he looks like so... I really don't know if he would go for that. for all we know Jab could be a 70 year old Japanese man with a long white beard or he could be some super hot sexy looking girl..... Jab has never shown us a real pic of him self.. I really do not think he will start sharing any privet info any time soon.

Yeah. I watch J. Scott Campbell stream some of his drawing sessions while he was answering questions in the chat room. It was an awesome experience.

He isn't going to be on webcam, we're just going to see his computer's desktop, essentially, or even just a section of his screen that he wants us to see. It's really easy to do, and I've actually tried to get him to set up a LiveStream account once, but he seemed less than enthusiastic about the whole concept. I don't think he likes the idea of people watching his process.

Or, it's entirely possible he's simply too lazy to go to the trouble of setting up ManyCam and broadcasting for us to watch.

I remember long ago he did a drawing from a website that records the whole process and then u can share it with other people, just a question of finding that post

I originally thought that's what the chatroom requests were going to be like; a livecast of him drawing on a tablet or something It'd be really really cool to see him draw!!!!

If anybody cared I was thinking about setting up a ustream channel and maybe broadcasting me working on some artwork. Although, the speed at which I do things would make a pretty boring broadcast lol. Maybe I'd just broadcast the coloring process, that seem sto go much faster than the sketching and inking, probably a lot less boring too. I dunno. Maybe later on when I get faster at doing things.
