Obviously this is only my personal opinion but I think we can see the best art (the mix of drawings, inks and colors) in MHAN 4, MHAN 5 and then AP 14.
I see in these 3 the same artists: drawings by Jab, colors by Moose and Inks by Mark Cleanup.
We have the same artists also in AP 15 but the art level seems to me a little bit lower (I like it but it's not the best).
I'm wondering about the differences... a different method or what?

This is not a complaint but only a question.
Thanks for your answers.

Could be a lot of reasons, I find everything in art (especially when you have people that expect regular updates) can be an incredibly stressful undertaking especially as demand increases. With everyone expecting regular updates every couple days it's an incredibly good thing that other comix like Omega Girl, Drama Island, etc. are present to allow the artists, inkers, and colorist the thing to make the best product they can. With Ay Papi 15, this is the first time a lot of these characters (Natalie, Claire, Julia, Noreen, etc.) have been tackled by this team so I suppose if you think the quality has decreased then perhaps the demand for more art is the cause, but there's a possibility that this is their best effort and their interpretation of these characters. I know that Noreen especially hasn't been seen in awhile. In my opinion, I still love AP15 mostly because it shows us soooo sooo much!! Like the colorful park, the school, the girls, the coach again, Richards' Nemesis Chester in his first sex scene! There's sooo sooo much going on and it's awesome!!! I love the wide variety in the color palette and well I could go on forever!! I know what you mean when you say it's not the art you expected, I can see that in certain panels but I'd say that AP15 has actually been more than I expected!! I know it sounds like sucking up but that's my honest opinion as a fan of the story as much as the art!!! ^^

Again, it's not a complaint. I'm only curious about the reasons.
I like Jab's art too. I'm here!

I was just talking about the graphic art, obviously if we consider the full product we have to talk about the plot too.
Well... I like the plot and for sure this AP15 is full of characters we needed to see.
I'm really waiting for the next pages. You can't know how much.

Maybe too much work for so much comics can decrease the quality of inks and colors. Maybe.
Maybe the team is working with a different tecniques. Maybe it's not so.
Maybe there's something that I can't know.
So as true fan of Jab's art I think I can say I see a little lower quality in AP15 and ask why. This a proof that I'm aware and interested.
So I'm only asking to know the reasons. I still love AP, MHAN... Jab's art.

The simple answer to your question is that the art is done by an Artist... not entirely by a machine. I hope that helps.

I personally don't see a decline in quality, in fact I see quite the opposite, I see progression. Compare the first issues of AP to the latest and tell me there isn't an improvement. Maybe that one is too easy, so try a comparison to AP 11 to the latest. Still quite an improvement. The lines flow with boldness and a rounded sense, there is a lot more energy infused on the page, the colors are rich and warm with textures in the trees and on the walls, the amount of detail on each page is remarkable much in the same way they are in the last installment of MHAN. As I have said I really don't see anything in a decline of quality from my perspective but if you do then understand JKR has a valid point, no one is infallible.

I can only really speak for the color when commenting about the quality of Ay Papi 15. I think the main thing is issue 15 is the second episode I colored, so if you preferred or were really comfortable with the previous colorist (I think it was Rick) my last two issues will be different. Not better, not worse probably, just different. In comparing 14 and 15, the main difference is I wanted 14 to be a very dark, dirty, and kinda nefarious because it takes place in a topless bar. Not one of those beautiful topless bars in the movies, I'm talking about that trashy joint around the corner from your cousin's house. Half of issue 15 takes place outside in a beautiful park where the kids play and have fun etc. Huge storytelling difference. I believe art can always be better is a good rule of thumb, but there are some big differences in the story that may contribute to you feeling that way.

I,too, agree with all this. AP15 is so vibrant as to be stunning. I can't imagine how it can keep getting better. As far as trying to do too much, I presume we all feel that way about his work at one time or another, but that simply comes from our desire to see our own favorite comics. You still got my support JAB.

I perfectly know that... but again, I'm curious about reasons of differences and if there are new tecniques or not.
I think I can ask about that.
And again I love AP and Jab's art.

I agree with you. But I was speaking about AP 14 and AP 15 not AP 11.
I agree with the point of view of JKR

I'm curious about the point of view of the inker too.

I love Rick ... and everyone who's worked on JAB comics, and they all have a style, and in my opinion, over time, EVERYONE has grown and improved. I treasure the little touches and subtle elements, perspectives, and creative tints and shading.

Moosey, you have wonderfully played with the varied lighting in a brilliantly sunlit park, a fluorescently bathed gym, a dingy, drab out house, and the bare bulb cramped field house office. In page 16, you had some great vantage points to deal with, and the shading is elegant ... down to the highlights on Chester's triumphant pre-cum.

Quality is a perception, and IMHO, it is on an uphill track ... and vive' la difference!

Cheers

I'm looking for an old Pic I used to have from back when Jab Archives was free and had Jab comics in it. It's a frontal view of Betty Rubble pulling her dress top down exposing herself. I had it saved on floppy disk but it was also when i had AOL and saved the pic in whatever they save as. I also don't have a floppy disk drive even if I could find the disk. Does anyone have a copy of this pic they can send me? I was wanting to get it as a tattoo always thought Betty was prettier than Wilma anyway. Please Help.
