REQ : MAC os to run on WINDOWS laptop

guys i just pre-orderd a 1 TERABYTE HD for my laptop
given the fact that WINDOWS GARBAGE holds storage space hostage ( when i cleaned and defragged my laptop last month i had 40 gigs free , however when i shut down and restarted it 2 days later i only had 10 gigs of Freespace)
im rather hesitant to install WINDOWS SHITSTA again on the new hd.

my plan was to install 7 on half of the HD and then an apple OS on the other
can you guys suggest anything ???

i had heard there was a program that runs as a primary and then you can hopscotch to either 7 or Mac , anyone have a clue what it is ??

Hey Jaganar. First off... MacOSX... not all its cracked up to be now that Windows 7 is out. Vista is not even close to the stability of windows 7. Install Windows 7 first, see how you like it.

If you go to: http://www.insanelymac.com/ there's a wealth of information. Its best to start with a laptop that is able to be hackintoshed and follow the instructions rather than trying to do it with a laptop you have already. Finding drivers for each WiFi, graphics, network, audio, motherboard and the hundreds of other components is a nightmare unless someone has previously written the drivers.

I used a IBM Lenovo X61 tablet that is very compatible and it took me two weeks and fifteen reinstalls before I got it to work. At that, it was very unstable. Putting OSX on an PC is just for fun and I wouldn't use it for anything but the joy of trying it out.

Anyway, I have major experience in Mac OS X on PC. It's called The OSx86 Project.

I have a macbook pro I use for all my creative work. I use mac osx for all my media work, and I installed windows 7 using BootCamp (comes with Mac OSX) and split my 500 gb hard drive 50/50 between the two operating systems. All I had to do is purchase windows 7 and follow the instructions on BootCamp to install it on the computer. Now I can just switch back and forth between both systems really quickly and get the best of both worlds. I use windows 7 mostly for games.

BootCamp is the program that will essentially give you two operating systems to use, one at a time. A restart is required to go back and forth, so its not really good for using files quickly from one side to the other, but it does give you 2 computers for the price of one. All your mac hardware will be utilized great on both operating systems.

Virtual desktop programs like VMWare Fusion or Microsoft Virtual desktop give you an emulated windows operating system running at the time on your mac, which essentially gives you 2 computers at the same time. But its very limited between how the two sides talk to each other and its more of a hassle to setup and the emulated windows operating system cant really handle any big applications since its only an emulation. Also it cant run any games. And it also divides your RAM, so it basically slows down both operating systems as a compromise.

I'm pretty sure Apple has OS X locked down and you can't run it on a PC without hacking, period. You can run virtual desktops of other OS's on a Mac but not of OS X on PC hardware. I'm with Laz--I think it's better to dual boot to different partitions on an Intel Mac because of resources. But what's wrong with doing a clean install of just Windows 7? 'NF

honestly dont u tell me GARBAGE7 is even stable with all the shit msn has spoken about Vista; to this motherfuckin day it has 40 gigs of my poor 120g hostage ( repeat offender and rapist after re-formating and installs). so im not gana trust that at all.

whats wrong ? because after GARBAGE VISTA held my poor lappy and basicly raped her continually ( keeping trophies *gigs of space* ) im not trusting anything for a full install cus i am protecting her now. better to have her kick 7's ass everyother day via a 1/2 hd split than have him try to assault her in a full install. this way she's atleast armed with a backup crew who knows how to fight ( Mac OS )
