Some good tips in there! Now I just need to get of my lazy ass and start using some of those tips.

Jim Butcher is bitchin'! I wrote him an email, and the cat actually wrote me back.
He's hilarious, even when writing only a few lines to a nobody like me.
Also, if you haven't read his work, he is excellent. He really knows how to move a story along, and keep one's interest, and he is prolific. I think, if my calculations are correct, he's published 20 books in just over a decade. That's a lot of words, yo'! If you like urban fantasy or speculative fiction, then read The Dresden Files series. There are now like 13 or 14 book. He also did a 6 book epic fantasy series called The Alera Codex. It's pretty good too.
And if you like Jim's stuff, you'll probably dig anything by Simon R Green. He's not as accessible as Butcher, but that limey can sure pen a rollicking adventure.
