Okay, here's the scoop...I'm not a writer, but I also don't play well with others when it comes to creating my ideas, and after trying to work with 5 different people on my comic idea I've decided that I'm just gonna' write the thing myself...so...

...Can anyone suggest a book, or online tutorial that I can referance for a crash-course in writing?

Gods Harl... seriously... there are SO many. And soooo many good ones too. I would suggest googling and finding one that you like.

In all honesty, there is no right or wrong way in writing.. regardless what some jackasses say. In my opinion, nothing is more valuable than a good editor.. I think that's what you really need.

That's a really good point right there, I didn't even think of that. I'm just so fustraited 'cause everyone wants to change what I want to do, and I'm not having that...But that's a fantastic idea, thank you

Just find someone who edits the work... instead of trying to change it. Good luck.. good editors are hard to come by. :)

I edit for a living (granted, the stuff I edit is scientific journals and not fiction--although I edit my own work too). I can be hands-off and just check grammar if that's what you're looking for. Any more substantial changes (such as dialogue that doesn't sound right or ring true to my ear) I can also comment on but leave those sorts of changes up to your discretion. As long as your story/script isn't too long, I can give it a quick run-through, if you're interested.

Blue uses us all as editors, sometimes, in chat...

I started writing trying to duplicate styles of different authors I like, not plagerize but just put something out there that sounds like there voice. First major influence was Stephen King, thats is why I can get a bit long winded on occasion. Blue is right having someone to run your stuff by is great. Another thing I have done is write a story, put it away for a few weeks, then try to write it again without looking at the original and see how the 2 compare.

The best tip I can give you, just start writing and dont give a fuck about what anyone elese thinks, if you like it, thats all that matters.

Cheers mate, cant wait to read it, but no pressure

I agree too, the only real way to get good at writing is to wright. Find a good editor to edit your work, and just write. Start by just writing to write. Don't organise or anything just write. It helps get your ideas out and on paper. Once your done brainstorming, then sit down and write your story. Give yourself a little time each day so as not to burn yourself out or get writers block.
