During this week, all I did is a few color studies, just to get familiar with designing Tabitha the witch. This time she’s more different when I first created her. She was envisioned as a teen, but she's more grown up as you can see the side by side below. Tabby is a full fledged woman who can seduce husbands (or wives) and eat your there children.

In the color study on of first problems I ran into making sure the eyes are a lined. (Check out the top let of tabby shots. It’ s vague in the initial sketch, but once you flipped the horizontal plane you can see it clearly. So I fixed it by drawing it on photoshop adding in a layer to draw on. The final drawing is on the bottom left. I did a bunch of them and I mistakenly deleted the layers, so I can’t show’em.
Right to painting, using painter 10, the tools are digital airbrush, to give it that painterly look, I use a blender called, “just add water." The first time I painted Tabby, was directly on the sketch on the top right, didn’t like the color choices and the drawing, so I abandoned it.
The second time, I was totally satisfied with the color choices on her face, but after 2 hours of painting and checking it after my break. I took a second look and the painting did not have the proper face structure, lost that girl next door look. Basically the drawing got lost underneath the painting, so I quit!
After a workout, I came back to my laptop and started again, the third time, the color study came together and I was feeling good about it. I’m taking my time with it, so far having great time. Made sure the values look good, forming her green face. I added the colors I need, add in details of the face to make her look lively. I love this new version of her, she looks all grown up. I continue painting until I'm completely satisfied with her development. Thanx for viewing.
Next I'll be drawing profiles of her body and out fit, to get the proportions squared away!
