Thanks for having my back Harley, I missed this completely because I do not frequent the art contest thread that much. I see my name was already removed from the list so I guess it is a non-factor now. If I was to try and post something it would be so terrible I would be banned from ever posting anything here again. And if I won it would be like voting the fat band geek the queen of the prom, sure it is funny, but it takes away credit from those that actually take their work/duties seriously. I do hope you find time to post something for the contest Harley, you know I always love your work and your take on cheerleaders is something I would be very interested in seeing. Hell, if you don't want to post it but have an idea and time to draw it anyway let me know and we might be able to work out some kind of trade or deal

Its your work, but your last piece that you did with inks was really impressive, not that your pencils aren't. So if your taking votes I request ink it, whatever it ends up being I am sure it will be terrific.

It's a matter of perspective. Personally a stick figure drawing can be considered complete. However, getting it done doesn't mean it'll win. If you want to keep Niicko from winning his fourth consecutive..
Anyways, I have an idea for the people flaking on the current contest. Simply put, they're not allowed to sign up for the next two contests. Yes, we'll still need 10 sign ups to make the Christmas Contest to happen. The punishment is fairly mild. Not a big deal for the indivisual but it will impact the next contest. For the six contestants that got their entry in early. Thanks. My panic attacks aren't very severe thanks to your early entries.

Secondably: I was wondering if late posting is due to seeing some of the early submissions and artists going back to redo their art, dump entering altogether or not wanting to show their hand too early. Its cool to see the drawings trickle in over the month however, my competitive side wants to submit an hour before the deadline (...my early submission this time out of respect for Moderator's nerves).
I figure most of us can finish a drawing in one or two sittings... maybe as to not penalize early submissions, we can option to private message our drawing's link to Moderator and he can post it at the beginning of the contest voting. That way, by two weeks in, Moderator will not have to stress about these contests and continue his drawings of Mindy. I like to show off my work but I'm totally willing to wait a month for a grand exhibition.
Thirdably: Penalty decision sounds good. Sign me up for Christmas! I'm ready! (unless the theme is "GAY SANTA"... then I'll pass).
Damnit Karmagik... well done! Extremely clever and some amazing art. Surely enough to take on Niiko?

I have to admit, Sinope, that part of me also prefers to submit my pic on the last day or two, as well. Part of that is the whole competitive edge thing, but I think its mainly like to see some other entries and make sure I don't repeat any of the gags that were already used.

I assume that you can just edit your posting with the new image if you put colors on it.
Part of me though, feels empathy for Moderator for having to sit week over week with no response while Webmaster is breathing down his neck because a late posting gives a pretty reasonable advantage in the voting. It is not just the fact that we get to see other artist's work and improve/compare. New art that someone has just seen posted is more "exciting" for the viewers than art that has been sitting there for a month. Its the "wow! New Poon!" that I think gives a leg up in voting.
I like how Mod tagged those artists that are finished...
I'm listed as a registered artist AND a hyena. Does that mean I need to submit two?

-As for the last minute tactics. I agree that's a general tactic (one that I know a few people use). Back when I was an active "dueler" on the internet, it was a general strategy in order to win. However it's easy to identify someone who'll use that tactic and someone who is actually flaking. I won't go into it though. Just 4 more entries left.
-No it won't be a Gay Santa theme. kinda. I don't know how the contestants will swing it. It'll be A Jabville XXXmas. At least one JAB character in a Christmas Theme. Parodies can be present in the pinup with the JAB character. Any medium. Doesn't need to be 'completed'.
