Some Help on GIF files ?? Creating a GIF file

Hello,

I'm trying to create a GIF file, so I can post as a new avatar.

I got the image ( movie ) from a clip, witch I: edited, reduced,
re-size; all using MS Windows Live Movie Maker.

But can't convert to a GIF file ?? Witch seems to be the only format that
the forum accepts, for a moving Avatar.

Any suggestions ??
