Well I know exactly how I feel. I've been following Jab since the first black and white comics of Farm Lessons and the first Ay Papi and I am aHUGE fan. And over the years I have noticed quite a change. I had been waiting years....YEARS....to see the mall rats comic. I waited patiently for its turn to come about and then it was cancelled. Then the new parodies were cut out. And now we have all these other bloody comics and side projects. Now I DO enjoy Farm Lessons and that new MHAN, as well as the colouring, but Omega Girl, The Wrong House and others? Nothing but filler!
It is now down to almost a year before we get another Ay Papi comic. And after all this time, we get this? Ay Papi 14 IS NOT an Ay Papi comic. If you removed Richards face this would be a generic web comic. Which is exactly what this episode is. GENERIC. For shame JAB! This is why I decided long ago to only get an occassional membership instead of a recurring one. I pay my hard earned monies to see quality comics, not such crap! If this seems kinda harsh well then maybe you should pay attention, as I am one of those that have been following you from the beginning. And I am sure I am not the only one out there feeling this way now.
I feel the exact same way. Like you, I have been around since before the pay site, and I was a full recurring member up until a couple of years ago. Since then, the direction has caused me to scale back my membership, from full membership to two three month subscriptions per year, to one, then to a couple of one month subs per year.
I had been looking forward to Ay Papi, since it has been nearly a year since the last one, and I find myself severely disappointed. The artwork and color are top notch as it always is, but this latest offering is not at all up to standards considering the fact that it has been so long since the last one. I know Jab came on here a couple of weeks ago and said that the series was supposed to be focused on Richard, but I would like to point out that the only character to appear in all of the episodes is Julia. Richard was nowhere to be seen in episode 3. This episode, combined with the fact that it takes 3-4 months to complete a single comic, has brought me to the realization that I am perfectly willing to get by on a single one month subscription per year, at most. I also like MHAN, but even Farm Lessons has become meh to me. The rest are just well drawn and colored filler.
This is a sad day...I had been saving my subscription for the completion of this episode of Ay Papi, but now I will delay it further until there is something submitted that is worth the money.
