Telgar
Shadows Birth.
Chapter 1: A New Beginning.
The night was quiet and calm, the red moon, over the continent of Padriche, shone fully in the night sky. Many stars were shimmering, like pinpricks in the black silk of the clear night. The city of Tergar was a Sharp contrast to the beautiful night, the streets were dark, litter and grime covered the worn cobblestones. The few lamp lights that were lit were subdued and distorted by the oil and grime the coated their lenses. Drunken beggars wandered the streets, or lay in crumpled heaps in the Alleys.
A lone figure walked down one of these streets. A middle aged female, with old worn black leather armor. An old slightly rusted and chipped long sword strapped to her side, and an equally old but well maintained gutting dagger sheathed in her right boot. An oily white cloth, with many stains, covered her mouth and nose as she tried to filter out the smell of urine and rotting refuse from the air. Her boots clicked quietly against the cobble stones, occasionally slipping against one that was loose or broken. It was plain to all that saw her, by her bearing, that despite her years she was still a formidable opponent, the creatures that hunted the streets wisely avoided her for easier prey.
She looked around at the old dilapidated buildings and citizens. She remembered days long past. Before this City stood, before this Continent was twisted and changed. Back to when this was a land known as the kingdom of Jontall, A time when the moon was much larger and shown white instead of blood red, to days long past and rarely remembered. Five hundred years ago the world was changed by dark magics, and she Angelica Alexis Tergar-Sarvill, was one of a few beings on the planet that could remember those days. She was an involuntary traveler from that forgotten past, who had been caught in this hellish future, of a world destroyed and reborn.

She walked down the long street, with quick but measured steps, looking at the signs that still hung over some of the ancient rundown Inns. Seeing one she recognized, she quickly stepped into it's dark interior. "Akaza, its all right it's only me." She wispered as she entered the dark building, her hand unconsciously going to her sword.
The large shadowy shape of an elder Minotaur moved in the shadows to her left, then steped into the moonlight coming through on of the broken windows. He wore a large chain shirt, and a shield almost as tall as a man, with an ancient crest emblazoned upon it, a simple green field with two black arrows crossing eachother over a long sword, was slung accorss his right arm. An enormous two-handed battle-axe was slung over his shoulder and a long dagger was slipped into his battered belt. "Were you able to locate the Lord Tergar, My Lady." The Minotaur asked patiently with a deep almost growling voice.
Angelica looked over at Akaza and grimace in despair as she replied. "Yes I found him. It was a waste of our time, the present Lord Tergar, is nothing like his namesake. He is fat and lazy, and looks worse than this pitiful excuse for a city."
Akaza looked desparingly at Angelica, then beconed for her to follow him, clearly disappointed at the news he was given. He lead her through the remains of the common room of what was clearly once, in its day, a fine Inn and out the back courtyard. "This is a great disapointment My Lady. I f what you say is true, and I mean no disrespect, then it looks as if the answers we seek are not to be found here." Akaza stated, as he lead Angelica towards an old decaying stable.
"I think not my friend, when we herd of this town I had hoped that my family had survived, and we might have gotten help. This Lord Tergar appears to be interested in nothing more than his own petty pleasures, and his soldures are just as worthless." Angelica replied as they stepped into the old stable.
The stable was old and run-down, but afforded more shelter from the elements and prying eyes than the old Inn. Moldy hay was scattered along the floor and most of the support beams were showing signs of decay and age. A small fire was burning in one of the corner stalls, and four cloaked figures huddled around it to soak up as much of the warmth as possible. The smallest of the four looked up as Angelica and Akaza walked in. His skin was pale and sickly looking, his catlike nose twitched as he sniffed the air attempting to determine who the intruders were. Suddenly he smiled slightly, revealing long fang-like teeth. "Lady Sarvil, welcome back." he proclaimed in a hissing voice as his clawed hands hastily flipped a small silver coin around his outstreached fingers. "Any luck at finding your oh so great descendents?"
A low catlike growl issued from the figure to the man's right. "Show more respect for the Lady, Sphinx, or will I have to demonstrate to you once more, my displeasure with you attitude?"

Very good Telgar! I like it! I could see the grime and filth of the City, and I could feel Angelica's impatience with the world and her situation. I do hope you finish, it is a story worthy of completion. :)
