I asked the question so I'll start.

Ugh! It's waaaaay over done. IMO Jab should go back to the way the character's used to speak in the blue n' white version. I had a heck of a hard time trying to read the accent he was trying to give the character's. We understand they're hicks. One word once in a while spelled in a hick-ish manner would suffice (i.e. "cussin'", "he was a gonna", "heck it weren't nothing...", "yo lil' assho' sure is tight!", etc.) At times reading this latest comic, I had to stop and figure out what the hell they were saying! It detracted from my enjoyment of the cartoon. What a mess!

Too bad. It killed it for me. I had to go back to previous issues to make sure it wasn't as bad back in the originals. It wasn't. "I sure hope things go back to da way they was." ;)

I have no problem reading their accents, maybe 'cause I have roots in the South. [Tenn'see and Alabam', to be exact.] Though when I first started reading X-Men comics, I had a hard time understanding what Gambit and Rogue were saying until I heard them speak on the cartoons in their Cajun and Mississippi accents respectively. Guess it just takes some getting used to.

I understand what you mean. I have to read it slowly, otherwise I won't understand what he's saying.

Agree that having to reread some of the things took away from the story. But the art was still up to snuff. ::)

doesn't bother me but I would have also made some other minor redneck vocabulary changes to match better.

I'm in the same boat here- I TRULY did not like the change in accents. I felt that it was WAAAAAYYYY over-the-top. Not only did it make understanding things difficult sometimes, it was a break in continuity- they didn't talk like that in earlier issues, so why start now? Personally, I found it more than troubling; I found it troublesome.

Please, please, PLEASE change it back, JAB. The art, as always, is top-notch, but those accents need to GO.
