I am aware that there's a lot wrong with this comic (art, story, composition...), but it's free so I don't feel too much guilt inflicting it on you.

This is a non-erotic, melancholic and violent comic about an adult KP.  I was originally motivated by the thought that it would be nice to see a KP comic written by Frank Miller.  Obviously, I haven't the ability to live up to such an aim, but the result might prove of interest to a KP fan willing to tolerate something different.

I tried to produce a comic which looked like the TV series and included most of the usual elements (saving the world, sci-fi, Kim and Ron's relationship, Kim's family, hitching a lift, molerats) but from a slightly skewed adult perspective.

As for the art quality, I tried a few different things and if they didn't work, I left them in simply because the number of pictures was too large to keep reworking.  I found producing a comic a bit like juggling a melon, an egg, and a running chainsaw, when I'm not even good at juggling two tennis balls.

This comic was meant to be the first of four episodes, but I haven't the time or talent to make it worthwhile completing all four.  Unfortunately, the other three episodes will remain confined to my head.  On the other hand, I feel the story in the first episode can stand alone, so I thought I might as well share it.

To be honest, I'd have been more comfortable with a non-toony comic style, but that would have rather defeated the aim.  I think I'll stick to porn in future (not a bad thing).

If anybody knows of a place where they might appreciate me posting this, please let me know.

Thanks for posting this.

Ever hear the saying. "Fear the Good Man (Woman)?"

- A villian will stand over you, taunting, giving you a chance.
- A good man will just kill you clean.

The reality of certain types of superhero universes just don't survive certain "real" realities about life.

This story is very dark, and in most of the role-playing games I've ever run, this is the reason why my players NEVER let the villian live.

If he gets away, then he comes back HARD.

Hmmm... to be honest, when I GM RPGs I consiously change how I make up stories depending on the genera. Space opera is very different from hard science, and pulp from modern.

Interesting experiment, though. :)

Well I personally loved it! I could definately see the Frank Miller influence in it, especially in the dialogue. It was shocking without being grotesque, and sexy without being smutty. Thanks for sharing this comic with us, it was very excellent. I would say I would love to see more, but I'm sure something of that volume and quality takes a lot of time and effort.

Still, great job!

Awesome comic. Very gritty, very poignant, and on occasion, it made me very uncomfortable with the dark places the characters had been taken - and that's a good thing, because it means that I connected with the characters. Kudos to you.

And 44 pages?! That's twice the length of a normal comic! That's practically a graphic novel!

Hey!  See I told you this place is friendly!  ANyway, havnt had time to read the whole thing yet, but glancing at the art you have somethign quite good here ... And considering that I have never gotten beyond 5 - 7 pages with any comic of my own, you definatly get points for taking a vision and translating it into a finished work.

Looking forward to your future work,

Meph

To be honest, OrangeCat, I didn't make any great efforts to achieve realism, more to place the character in situations reflecting unpleasant aspects of life; that's why I mentioned Frank Miller.  If I made realism my priority, I would have to admit things such as the fact that a cold virus couldn't contain the amount of RNA necessary to build the device mentioned.  I was more interested in such things as how ridiculous it is that a photogenic individual in peril will take priority over the fate of millions in a hollywood flick.

As for RPGs, they are driven by individuals with self-interest, which can conflict with story flow.

What I had hoped to do with the comic was to hold the interest of a KP fan by twisting the basic elements of the series, by being KP but not KP.  When I get around to it, I'll have a look for somewhere with older KP fans with a taste for the unusual, but for now I'll put this one in the drawer marked: "Heroic Failures."

I'm off to buy some polymer clay for the next time I feel artistic.  The pencil and pen can have a rest.
